Privacy Policy — LangLang

LangLang is an iOS client for talking to your AI assistant. This policy describes what stays on your iPhone, what is sent to Optimatist Technology Co., Ltd.’s control plane (Makway), and what is sent to the assistant host you choose.

What stays on this iPhone

  • Recovery phrase and identity keys (Keychain, unlocked with Face ID or your device passcode)
  • Local chat history, pairing state, and dedicated-network enrollment files
  • On-device logs used for debugging (they are not uploaded to the dedicated network or to Optimatist Technology Co., Ltd.)

Face ID and your passcode are used only by the operating system to unlock keys on this device. We do not receive biometric data.

Local Network permission is used only to reach an assistant on the same LAN. We do not scan other devices for advertising or analytics.

What Optimatist Technology Co., Ltd. (Makway) receives

Makway is the control plane. It answers “who are you” and “where is your assistant.” It does not carry chat message bodies.

When you register or use the app, Makway may receive:

  • Public identifiers for your operator account and surfaces (not your recovery phrase)
  • Assistant endpoint records you publish or discover
  • Dedicated-network bootstrap metadata needed to join the dedicated network
  • An APNs device token, bundle ID, and sandbox/production environment, so we can send a notification hint

We use this only to operate the service (routing, discovery, notifications). We do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising or tracking across other companies’ apps.

What your assistant host receives

Chat text, attachments, and session events go directly from the iPhone to the assistant host you paired, not through Makway. That host is typically a computer you run. Its privacy practices are yours (or your administrator’s), not those of Optimatist Technology Co., Ltd.

Push notifications

Notifications are hints (enrollment, approvals, chat refresh). They do not include the full chat transcript. You can disable notifications in iOS Settings.

Retention

  • Data on this iPhone remains until you reset this device, delete your account, or delete the app.
  • Reset this device removes LangLang data on this iPhone and leaves Makway records so you can recover with your phrase.
  • Delete account removes the Makway account and linked server data, then clears this iPhone. Other LangLang devices lose access. Chat kept by the assistant host is not deleted by LangLang.
  • After deletion, Makway keeps a non-identifying receipt for 30 days (deletion ID, token hash, status, timestamp). There is currently no legal or billing retention exception.
  • Notification tokens are kept only while the device is registered for push.

Your choices

  • Reset this device (Account & Security): deletes LangLang data on this iPhone; Makway records stay so you can restore.
  • Delete account (Account & Security): type DELETE ACCOUNT / 删除账号, confirm with Face ID or the device passcode. Typical completion is under one minute; server retries may take up to 15 minutes.
  • You can refuse Local Network, Face ID, or notifications; some features will not work.
  • Contact us to ask what Makway stores for your account, or to request deletion.

Children

LangLang is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your country).

Changes

We will update this page and the in-app copy when collection or processors change.
